Vegan Baking Tips And Handy Tricks!

i know you know you think you know everything (i did too, but i don't!) but everyone can always learn more, so here are some helpful little tips!
  • Don't. Over. Mix. i know you just love to stir but to much stir-ing could get you into a bit of trouble. and i've found out that that if you stir it not that much, it keeps it moist and fluffy.
  • Don't use flax for icing, unless it's a very fine consistency. i prefer Ener-G Egg Replacer, it's white and it won't leave chunks o' flax in your icing.
  •  Canola and olive oil do not have the same taste! use canola for most (pretty much all) baking.
  •  when a recipe says like (for example) 20-30 minutes start with the lower amount and keep an eye on your treat. 
  •  if your are thinking about getting a piping set, go for it! but don't skip on the quality, i suggest metal tips and non-disposable bags. the company i use is Wilton.
